How do you tow and not hurt my transmission?
Where do I park if all of the visitor spots are full?
The short answer is…DON’T! There are enough resident spots for the residents that live in that complex. If you park in a resident’s spot, and you are not a resident, you run the risk of being towed…at your expense.
Where can my Mom, Dad, girlfriend, boyfriend, or just friends park?
Check with your property manager. Do not tell them to park in a resident’s spot! It is your responsibility to tell them where visitors can park. (Be sure to read the question above!)
Can I get a decal for Mom, Dad, girlfriend, boyfriend, or just friends?
NO! you must be a RESIDENT of the complex. (Yes Dad, I know you pay the rent, but there are only so many parking places).
What do I do if I think my car has been towed?
Call us! We’ll be happy to tell you if we have it. It really helps us if you can tell us your license plate number, where your car might have been towed from, or even the make and model of the car. Please don’t swear that you were in a visitor’s spot if you weren’t. Our drivers take pictures before they touch the vehicles. The pictures will show where you were, and when you were there.
What do I do if I see you starting to tow my car?
Don’t start the conversation by questioning our parentage or describing us in anatomical terms. (You know the words, and gesture that I’m talking about…right?) The old saying that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar applies. Our drivers are doing a job. If you were wrong, admit it and accept the consequences. A polite and professional conversation goes a lot further than profanity.
What if I really think I was towed inappropriately?
We have worked with our property managers to develop an appeal process. When you ask for it, we will be happy to give you an appeals package. The package goes to the property manager, who will call us and ask for our input. Together, the property Manager and DVT will decide if the tow was properly done. This gives the property manager a chance to make sure that we are following the rules of the property properly. We believe this oversight is key to a long-term relationship. If the decision is that we were wrong, we will refund your money promptly.
July 30, 2017 — Lee was extremely helpful and helped me get my car registered with my rental unit and helped me get a temporary pass while my car was in the shop. He and his staff were very friendly and kind and helped me feel much more at ease during a stressful time. I will be calling them with any issues I have in the future! Excited about Lee and his wife own this company!
